Verbal assessments uncover how colleagues, peers, and team members perceive a leader’s communication and leadership style. As part of our executive communication coaching process, each participant selects 6–8 colleagues from across the organization, including senior leaders, peers, and direct reports, to participate in confidential interviews.

These conversations give us a deeper understanding of a participant’s communication strengths, leadership challenges, and potential blind spots. The feedback highlights how different audiences experience the leader’s communication style, executive presence, credibility, and overall leadership brand.

By identifying recurring themes and gathering real-world examples, verbal assessments reveal the impressions, assumptions, and perceptions that shape a leader’s professional reputation. This insight helps us pinpoint opportunities to strengthen executive presence, improve leadership communication, and align a leader’s actions with the brand they want to project. With a clear understanding of current perceptions, leaders can make intentional communication choices that build trust, reduce misperceptions, and increase their overall leadership impact.
