MANAGING A HYBRID WORKFORCE
For many managers, managing during the pandemic might’ve been the easy part. After the initial chaos of shifting teams and processes to a virtual model, everyone was more or less working in a similar manner.
But now as companies return to work, there are new guidelines and discussions of a hybrid work model. Every company is setting guidelines a little differently, but all companies are looking to their managers to interpret those guidelines and set clear expectations for their individual teams. And without an intentional and proactive approach to “reset,” managers may quickly find themselves dealing with unrealistic expectations, individual comparisons, and a lot of unrest.
Hybrid models seem like a great compromise on paper, yet they put more strain on managers. To reset a team, a manager has to become rigorous with process and clearer with communication.
And that’s why we’re helping managers at all levels develop a blueprint for leading a hybrid workforce.
To launch a successful reset, managers need to think through an intentional plan for how their teams should work. To help them do that, we work through a three-step process:
Steps for Managing a Hybrid Workforce:
• Step 1: Lead the Team
• Step Two: Manage Individuals
• Step Three: Run the Processes
